Weather Forecast: Sunshine And Fluffy Clouds

07.11.2016: The rain is drifting away from Gran Canaria and the rest of the week will be sunny with the odd cloud.

28.10.2016: The rain has moved off to the north and the next week will be sunny with a touch of dust over the weekend.

23.10.2016: The rain arrives overnight in Gran Canaria and peaks on Tuesday.

21.10.2016: A Polar front heading south towards Spain is going to change the weather in the Canary Islands during the next week.

17.10.2016: The rain that was headed towards the Canary Islands yesterday faded away before it reachedus. All we got in Gran Canaria was a few drops of rain scattered across the island.

13.10.2016: Spain got seriously wet yesterday and the tail end of that weather is arriving in the Canary Islands today. It won't affect the south of the island, but the north can expect the odd shower (although the sun is blazing this morning).

03.10.2016: We were expecting a weak but wet front to arrive today or tomorrow and brings showers to most of Gran Canaria. However, it's gone north and won't affect us.

The Trade Winds have faded and we're now in the period of calm, sunny weather known in the Canary Islands as  'las bonanzas de Septiembre'.

19.09.2016: If you're in Gran Canaria you may have noticed the grey to the south and east of the island yesterday. That was a wet front that never quite made it to land (it just touched Fuerteventura and Lanzarote).

16.09.2016: A cloudy start to today although the sun will out in south Gran Canaria from around midday.

12.09.2016: There's a tropical system heading towards Gran Canaria from the south that may cause a storm today. It was forecast for the afternoon but could well arrive earlier.

09.09.2016: Temperatures drop by at least 5ºC over the weekend as winds from the Atlantic Ocean cool the island down.

29.08.2016: South Gran Canaria is currently on Orange alert (until 19.00) for high temperatures with the rest of the island and the Canarian archipelago on yellow alert. The Canarian Government has also announced an alert for maximum temperatures.

16.08.2016: Gran Canaria is now in the middle of a settled patch of weather that will last all week.

08.08.2016 The scorching weather faded away on Sunday but will be back on Tuesday when a second blast of heat arrives from North Africa.

Gran Canaria Tip: What Are The Best Car Hire Companies?

This is one of the most common questions we get in our Facebook Group (with over 30,000 members) and fortunately, it is an easy one to answer. The Gran Canaria Info admin team and the fans in our Facebook group agree...

The best car hire companies in Gran Canaria are local ones with desk at the airport and honest pricing policies that don't have any hidden insurance or fuel deposit costs. They just rent you a good car at a good price with no fuss at all.

We recommend Mr Car Hire Gran Canaria (Nick); an idependent car rental professional who works with all the main local rental companies in Gran Canaria. This means that he can always find you a good deal.

Mr Car Hire also offers fully comprehensive insurance on all car rental, three-day bookings, and delively of your car right to your door anywhere in Gran Canaria.

We advise all Gran Canaria visitors to avoid booking the cheapest possible car on generic car rental websites or via their flight company because you often end up paying large deposits, extra fuel and insurance costs and all kinds of other costs once you arrive to pick up your car at the airport.
